The gameplay mechanics in Sailaway: The Sailing Simulator build on exploring the seas and oceans all over the globe. The player assumes the role of a sailor aboard one of many detailed ships, including the 38-feet long Cruiser, one-man Mini-Transat, and a classic, 52-feet long cruise yacht. The developers were working hard to make each aspect of the game as realistic as possible, thus players who are new to this title should start their adventure on lower difficulty settings featuring more hints on the secrets of virtual sailing.
Higher difficulty settings force the player to take some additional factors under consideration. Seas and oceans have been developed based on real data regarding wind’s velocity and direction, water depth, as well as the wave height and the marine energy.
